Change your email, user ID, or password for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant , and QuickBooks Self-Employed

Learn how to change your email address, user ID, or password for QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Online Accountant, or QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Need to make some updates? You can make changes to your accounts from your Intuit Account Manager. You can get there while you’re using QuickBooks, or sign in to the account manager directly.

Important: Keep in mind, your QuickBooks account is connected to all of your Intuit products. Any changes you make apply to all of your Intuit products, including QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Mint.

Change your QuickBooks user ID, email address, password, and other info #

Note: Do you have multiple companies? Or see a message that your email is already being used? Consider consolidating them under a single user ID for a better sign-in experience.

From QuickBooks Online #

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Select your profile icon next to Settings .
  3. Select Manage your Intuit Account. This opens the Intuit Account Manager.
  4. Select the Sign in & security menu.
  5. Select the User ID, Email Address, or Password section.
  6. Make your changes.
  7. When you’re done, select Save.

From QuickBooks Online Accountant #

If you use QuickBooks Online Accountant, use the Intuit Account Manager to edit your info. It offers the same profile management, even if you’re not signed in to your QuickBooks Online account.

From QuickBooks Self-Employed #

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Intuit Account. This opens the Intuit Account Manager.
  3. Select the Sign in & security menu.
  4. Select the User ID, Email Address, or Password section.
  5. Make your changes.
  6. When you’re done, select Save.

From Intuit Account Manager #

  1. Sign in to Intuit Account Manager. Use your QuickBooks sign-in info.
  2. Select the Sign in & security menu.
  3. Select the User ID, Email Address, or Password section.
  4. Make your changes.
  5. When you’re done, select Save.

Recover your user ID or password #

Can’t sign in? Don’t worry. Go to the QuickBooks Sign inpage, then select I forgot my user ID or password.

Important: Since your QuickBooks account is connected to all of your Intuit products, this resets your info for all the products tied to your account.

If you still can’t sign in, you can send us a request to recover your account. Once you get back into your account, you can use the steps in the section above to change your user ID or email if you want.
